Privacy Policy

The short version

• Files you open and text you type into our tools are processed in your browser. They are not uploaded to our servers.
• You do not need an account, and we do not ask for your name or email to use any tool.
• Our advertising partner, Google, may use cookies to show ads. You can control this (see "Advertising" below).

Information we do not collect

We do not receive, store or see the contents of your PDFs, images or text, nor the numbers you enter into calculators. Those stay on your device and disappear when you close or refresh the page, unless you save the result yourself.

Information stored on your device

To make the site more convenient, the website saves a few small preferences in your browser's local storage:

• Your light or dark theme choice.
• A short list of the tools you opened most recently, so you can return to them quickly.
• The tools you mark as favorites, so they appear under Favorites on the home page.

This data stays in your browser and is never sent to us. You can remove it any time by clearing your site data in your browser settings.

Server logs

The site is delivered through a hosting provider and content delivery network. Like most websites, these services automatically record technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages requested and the date and time of the request. This is used to keep the site secure, prevent abuse and understand overall traffic. We do not use it to identify individual visitors.

Advertising

We use Google AdSense to display ads. Google and its partners, as third-party vendors, use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings at https://adssettings.google.com. Other than cookies set by our advertising partner, the site itself does not set tracking cookies. If we add an analytics service in the future to measure aggregate traffic, we will describe it on this page before using it.

When you contact us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. We use it only to reply and to improve the site, and we keep it only as long as it is needed to deal with your message.

Some pages may link to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites, so please read their policies.

Children's privacy

ScanYourTool is a general-purpose utility site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Because we hold almost no personal data, there is usually little to access or delete. Depending on where you live (for example under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act or the GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct or erase personal data, or to withdraw consent. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when it last changed. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
